  • Why Concierge Pediatric Care?
Many parents of healthy children often ask, “Do we really need a concierge pediatrician if my child rarely gets sick?” It’s understandable, when kids are thriving, routine care from a traditional practice might seem sufficient. However, concierge pediatric care offers far more than sick visits. It’s about proactive support, unparalleled access to expert guidance, and personalized attention that ensures your child stays healthy and thrives at every stage. At Horse and Buggy Pediatrics, our model of care goes far beyond typical office hours, protocol-driven triage lines, and the access limitations families often encounter at traditional medical practices. By doing so, we provide personalized, convenient, and comprehensive support while eliminating the gaps that often leave families feeling anxious, frustrated, and uncertain. Here’s why this model can be an invaluable resource for even the healthiest children and their families: Proactive, Preventive Health True wellness extends beyond the absence of illness. Our care model focuses on prevention through unhurried, comprehensive well-child visits, developmental and behavioral health screenings, and age-specific guidance for nutrition, sleep, and mental health among many others. It empowers families to stay ahead of potential issues rather than reacting once problems arise. For families managing complex or chronic medical conditions, concierge pediatrics allows for enhanced coordination of care. Your pediatrician can serve as an accessible, supportive, and consistent point of contact, collaborating closely with specialists, therapists, hospitals, and schools to ensure that everyone involved in your child's care is aligned and focused on what matters most. This level of continuity helps prevent miscommunication, reduces duplication of testing or treatment, eliminates unnecessary referrals, and supports better health outcomes for children with ongoing medical needs. Immediate Access for Urgent Concerns Even healthy children face unexpected challenges: a late-night fever, a weekend injury, or an unfamiliar rash. Traditional practices often have limited availability for same-day appointments or urgent care needs. They frequently defer to nurse triage lines after hours, leaving families with generic advice or referrals to crowded urgent care centers or emergency rooms. At Horse and Buggy Pediatrics, you have direct access to your child's doctor—day or night. This means prompt responses from a trusted expert who knows your child, resulting in comprehensive, evidence-based, personalized care without unnecessary ER or urgent care visits. A Trusted Partner as Your Child Grows Health needs evolve tremendously from infancy through adolescence. Having a dedicated pediatrician who understands your child and knows their history ensures seamless, personalized care at every stage. This continuity helps identify subtle changes, guide families through developmental milestones, and provide expert advice for your child's well-being. Together, we navigate the challenges and celebrate the successes that come with raising children...every step of the way. Responsive, Comprehensive Care Concierge care extends beyond the home. Whether you're traveling or navigating a busy schedule, direct access to your pediatrician via phone, text, email, or video ensures continuous support. From routine check-ups to post-emergency follow-ups, your child’s health is prioritized no matter the circumstances. Peace of Mind Perhaps the most significant benefit is the peace of mind that concierge pediatric care provides. Knowing that your child’s doctor is always within reach, ready to offer expert guidance, reassurance, and in-person care in the comfort of your own home, can be invaluable. For busy families balancing work, school, and activities, this caliber of support can truly be a game-changer. Bottom Line Even for healthy children, concierge pediatric care offers more than just convenience, it provides a foundation for lifelong well-being, thoughtful guidance through every stage of growth and development, and the comfort of knowing that expert support is always within reach. At Horse and Buggy Pediatrics, we believe in proactive, relationship-driven care, ensuring that even the healthiest children continue to thrive.

  • How does communication with us work?
We utilize several integrated, HIPAA-compliant electronic platforms: Hint Health, Spruce Health, and Elation Health. We believe that your child's doctor and medical information should be readily available when you need them. You will never have to go through a front desk, answering service, or even a nurse to reach your child's physician or your child's information. Better access means better outcomes. Hint Health is our secure online billing and membership management platform. With Hint, you can easily access your child(ren)'s membership and preferred billing information at any time. Spruce Health is our secure, all-in-one, HIPAA-compliant communication platform that allows for simple and direct communication with your child's physician through text messaging, video, or phone calls whenever you need it. Elation Health is our secure, cloud-based, HIPAA-compliant electronic health record system that allows you to access your child's health information, view visit summaries, appointments, and many other components of their care. Through Elation, you can access past medical and immunization records, receive appointment reminders, easily send messages and faxes, and upload documents directly to your child's physician.

  • If I have multiple children, do all of them need to be enrolled in the practice?
No, not all children within a single household are required to be enrolled with our practice. We would strongly recommend having a single primary pediatrician for your children in order to insure improved continuity of care, provider-patient communication, and a more meaningful and seamless doctor-patient relationship. We also recognize that every child's healthcare needs are different, and this is true even for children within the same household. However, only members who are actively enrolled in our practice are eligible to receive care from us.
  • How do I become a member?
If you're interested in a membership and want more information about availability and pricing, please fill out the membership inquiry form on our "Contact Us" page. A member of our team will contact you directly.
  • What forms of payment do you accept?
Membership fees may be paid via debit card, credit card, check, or ACH payment.
  • Can I cancel my membership at any time?
Yes, you may cancel your membership at any time without penalty. If you elected to prepay your annual membership upfront, any unused portion of your membership will be refunded to you accordingly. We do require membership cancellation requests be submitted in writing with thirty (30) days' notice.
  • Do you offer gift memberships?
Yes, we understand that a monthly premium for the type of care we provide may not be feasible for everyone. Therefore, we allow friends, relatives, or family members to gift/sponsor an ongoing membership on behalf of your child. This can be a wonderful way to ensure they receive exceptional, personalized care from a provider they truly know and trust.
  • Does your practice accept medical insurance?
When it comes to health insurance coverage, Horse and Buggy Pediatrics is considered an out-of-network provider. Therefore, we do not accept insurance, nor do we bill your insurance company for our medical services; these are covered by your membership fees. Certain health insurance plans may allow for reimbursement of specific covered services, such as wellness visits and sick visits, for out-of-network providers. Upon request, we can provide you with a billing receipt for services provided, which you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement, as specified in your insurance plan details. We recommend consulting with your insurance plan representative for clarification of your policy details. We recommend maintaining insurance coverage for additional care needs beyond what we can directly provide through our practice. This may include necessary medical imaging, external laboratory testing, sub-specialist referrals, emergency department visits, inpatient hospitalization, surgery, outpatient therapy, specialized mental health care, prescription medication coverage, etc. When it comes to maintaining health insurance, PPO insurance plans work well with our care delivery model, as they allow us, as an out-of-network provider, to order necessary testing, prescribe treatment, and make sub-specialist referrals without the requirements or restrictions of being in-network. For this reason, most HMO plans are not compatible with our concierge-style service model, as they typically require an in-network physician to facilitate and provide care to avoid high out-of-pocket costs. Therefore, we do not recommend this type of insurance plan if you are looking to utilize our services. Currently, Medicaid policy in the state of Colorado is not compatible with our care delivery model, and as such, we are not able to participate in the Colorado Medicaid Program at this time.
  • Can an FSA or HSA be used with your practice?
Charges for certain medical services provided by a concierge-style medical practice, such as sick visits or wellness exams, may be eligible for reimbursement through a Flexible Spending Account (FSA), Health Savings Account (HSA), or Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA). However, these charges are typically not eligible for reimbursement through a Limited-Purpose Flexible Spending Account (LPFSA) or a Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account (DCFSA). Upon request, we can provide you with a billing receipt for services provided, which you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement according to your plan’s details. Monthly membership fees may not be eligible for reimbursement through the above spending accounts. We recommend consulting with your insurance plan representative for clarification on your policy.
  • What if my pediatrician is ill or out of town?
We strive to minimize any disruptions to your child’s care and to keep access to your pediatrician as consistent as possible. We will always notify you of any planned absences well in advance and coordinate any necessary non-urgent care beforehand. During these absences, your pediatrician may still be available via call, text, or video visit to help maintain continuity of care. In the event of unexpected situations, such as a serious illness or medical emergency, we will make every effort to arrange alternative pediatric care until services can resume.
  • What if my child gets sick while out of town?
We understand that you can’t always plan for when your child gets sick. That’s why you always have access to your child’s doctor, even when you’re out of town. Dr. Wright will do everything medically appropriate to help you manage and navigate your child’s illness remotely. However, if it’s not possible to ensure safety from a distance, Dr. Wright will assist you in seeking appropriate local care if a more extensive evaluation or treatment is needed.
  • What is your policy on vaccinations?
We firmly believe in the importance of childhood vaccinations and consider routine immunization to be one of the most impactful interventions we can provide to support your child’s health and well-being. We strongly recommend and closely follow the vaccination schedules recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). These recommended vaccines and schedules are the result of years of scientific study and data collection on millions of children by thousands of the brightest scientists and physicians. While we do not recommend alternative vaccination schedules, we are happy to provide information and guidance to help parents/caregivers make informed decisions and establish a vaccination plan they are most comfortable with. If you feel strongly against having your child receive any vaccinations, we suggest seeking an alternative practice for your child's pediatric care needs. Currently, members have the option of receiving in-home vaccinations at a discounted percentage below the standard wholesale price — without additional markups or hidden fees. Pricing is available upon request. Insurance plans may cover this expense, and we can provide the necessary documentation for submission to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. Alternatively, members may choose to receive vaccinations through their local pharmacy, public health department, or a traditional clinical practice if preferred.
